Yordan Tsanev
Yordan Tsanev is a Business Economics major at UCLA with an interest in entrepreneurship and a passion for helping others. He has leadership and teaching experience, has been involved in creating tailored courses for several projects, and has attended and completed courses in institutions such as Harvard, Yale, Sofia University, and others. Yordan also has experience in asset management at companies such as ExpatCapital and Elana.
Before college, Yordan was a part of the Sofia High School of Mathematics (SHSM) – one of the most prestigious schools in Bulgaria. During high school, he co-founded the first economics club in SHSM, which provided a platform for up to 60 students to explore their curiosity about economics. Parallel to that, Yordan co-led the “Young Scientist Project 3” with the help of 12 volunteers.
Inspired by his experiences, Yordan led his project “Minorities Matter” to improve the socioeconomic integration of 21 Roma orphans into the labor market. He later came up with the idea for the “Academy of Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship” and worked with a volunteer to connect with Burgas Free University, create the syllabus for the course, and refine the participant selection process.
